So there seems to be a reoccurring question I receive on a weekly basis and so I wanted to answer it OUTLOUD, (read this whole post very loud for full affect) and publicly as I believe it may be of interest quite a few people!

The question :
Why do you get up stupidly early and go to the gym?
Why not go after work?
Why not have a lie in and go the gym at a reasonable time and then go to work, you work for yourself?

So for those that don’t know, I wake up naturally at 6 am every day. Rising and shining all week long!
Now Mon-Fri, I set my alarm for 5.40 and get up and out for 6 am en route to the gym or a yoga class or a run!
Seems silly right? 5.40 is so early, I know, especially when I don’t NEED to get up then. However, it works for me and my schedule!

So here is why I believe that working out in the morning is much better for you:

You may initially feel tired when you wake up earlier than usual but once you’ve hit the gym, gone on a run etc you’ll feel so energised and amazing for the rest of the day. Your energy levels will be much higher!

I never ever feel hungry when I first wake up. In fact, if I didn’t go to the gym, I’d only start feeling like eating towards 11 o clock! Working out in the morning will kick start your metabolism so when you do eat your first meal, you’ll burn it off much quicker.
If I wasn’t to go to the gym in the morning, I probably wouldn’t be making it to the gym or to a             class as much as I do now. Why? Because I know, my days are usually quite long and when it gets to 7 or 8 and I’m finishing, the last thing I want to do is to spend an hour in the gym. My energy levels are lower, my motivation has vanished. At least when I go in the morning, I know that I’ve got it done and then the rest of the day can be spent on work and I can use my evenings as I wish!

Exercising increases your productivity and gets your endorphins going. You will be more awake and ready to tackle your day by giving yourself that extra energy boost. Working out can increase your mental clarity for four to 10 hours post-exercise.

For someone who struggles to sleep sometimes (due to all the craziness whizzing round), I can vouch that working out in the morning encourages me to sleep better and for longer. Since exercise stimulates your body, when you exercise at night, it becomes more difficult to fully relax and drift into peaceful sleep
So those are my main reasons and benefits to working out early in the morning!

Hope you found this useful!

Much Love

Evie Xx
